Skin care is especially hard when you travel. Here's a blogger dealing with a bad case of Beijing dandruff.
When I got to China, one of the first things I noticed was that an overwhelming number of Chinese people have dandruff. I didn’t think it about it much but took it to be a genetic thing or some anomaly due to a different attitude towards cleanliness, different shampoo, hard water… Half way through last semester, I noticed that I had acquired, through good fortune perhaps, small patches of dry skin on my scalp. OK, fine. These things happen, Beijing does happen to be extra dry. No biggie. I bought some Chinese dandruff shampoo and considered my case of itchy, dry scalp conquered. I think that Chinese crap only made it worse. When I got to RI over break, I bought the usual Head and Shoulders. I figured that if that stuff can kill a small animal, it should be able to take care of a little case of dandruff. Wrong again. In PA, I even bought some leave in treatment. I think it just added fuel to the fire.
