Preventing and Treating Stretch Marks
Whether or not a person develops stretch marks seems to partly depend on their skin's inherited characteristics. Here is what to look for.

- The skin is stretched beyond its capacity
- The underlying tissue tears
- The body responds by forming scar tissue
- The fresh stretch mark looks pink, red, brown or purple
- Over time, the colour fades
- The stretch mark becomes a shimmering, silvery line
- The silvery line may look slightly indented
- The scar is permanent.

Stretch marks STRETCH MARKS are those unsightly and difficult to removes scars that occur below the surface of the skin when women gain or loose weight too quickly. What happens is that a tear forms in the deep layers of the skin or the dermis.
