Skin Care Is Big Business
The skin care market that addresses health and aging is a big business.
A $12.4 billion market, consumer skin and hair care and makeup products that beautify as they address health problems or concerns are a booming market, according to a new report released by MarketResearch.com. The concept of cosmeceuticals was reportedly introduced with antiaging preparations in the early 1990s, and has stretched into shampoos with stress-relieving scents or lipsticks with sunscreen. New attitudes about beauty and America’s changing ethnic mix are reportedly a few of the factors driving sales.
