Margot Fonteyn
Here at Skin Care News, nothing is a secret!
Her fascinating book proves how persistent she was, and how she won the trust of those who knew the much-loved ballerina best. The difficulty we both found was that Fonteyn’s generation (she was born in 1919) did not believe in airing any kind of linen in public. In their view, the world had no need to know about a performer’s private life. Dancers, when they talked at all, did not discuss their aches and pains, abortions, affairs, plastic surgery and eating habits. Their colleagues were expected to be similarly discreet, especially if they were members of the Royal Ballet.

Nursing Bra
I suppose this will offset the decidedly unsexy look of spit-up on your shoulder and stretch marks on your abdomen.

Plastic surgery?
I also have a micro-dermabrasion scrub from Origins that makes this particular Fine Line disappear for a few minutes right after I use it. Then when I check it again in like an hour, the line is back in full force. Oh well.

Stretch Mark Anxiety
Body changes during pregnancy cause lots of skin care anxiety.
And like always, I'll end out with a picture of my magically growing belly (and hips.) My old stretch marks from my adolescent hip growth spurt are more noticeable lately :( which I am devastated about, of course.

Make Your Own Cosmetics
I barely have enough time to apply my cosmetics, let alone make my own cosmetics.
I thought that this was an interesting site. Learn how to Make Your Own Cosmetics. Learn how to make handmade soap, body balms, oils, and creams, facial & lip care, hand, foot, & hair care, and more. The directions seem to be easy to understand and the site also has its own ingredient encylopedia so you can learn what the ingredients are.

Hurrican Relief Experience - Day 7
Don't forget to pack sunscreenA whole bunch more volunteers showed up from the Campus Crusade for Christ. They were full of energy, but a bit arrogant to the weather conditions. We warned them on drinking plenty and sunscreen. The timing and organization of the line became a bit messy.

Vegas
It's always sunscreenRight now I am aiming towards getting them a Vegas travel pack. They’re going to Vegas for close to a week for their honeymoon and I started thinking that maybe buying them a kick ass Vegas travel guide would be a good way to start. Sunscreen maybe, but I don’t know what else. I’ve never been to Vegas myself. Is it even sunscreen weather there in November!?

When Will I Learn?
It's always sunscreenSo I spend the day at the UNLV game on Saturday when ends up being a 13-10 win for the Rebels. (Thank you Sergio Aguayo!!!) Like a moron I didn’t think to wear any sunscreen for a game… at noon… in the desert… Lord how did I not see this coming? Four hours later I can feel the left side of my face radiating back all the heat it has absorbed over the course of the day. Only the one half though because I am sitting on the south side of the stadium. (30 yard line, 2nd row, only $85 for the whole year) To top it all off I have this area where the sunglasses are that isn’t burnt. I look like half a raccoon now.

Healthy Diet!
Apparently consuming milk products not only helps your calcium intake, but may help you lose weight, too.
10 Maintain an adequate calcium intake. Calcium is essential for strong bones and teeth. Get your calcium from low-fat sources, such as skim milk and low-fat yogurt. If you can't get the optimal amount from foods, take supplements.

Rx For Health
Good prescription for diet and exercise!
Here’s my prescription. Turn off the TV, go for a walk and have an apple. Be proactive and take care of yourself with a good, natural diet and exercise. Slow down, stop being so busy and spend time with the people you love. Count your blessings and thank the Lord for giving you every good gift. It’s the best medication that money can buy.

Vaseline
It's messy, but VaselineWhen I finally got home, I was greeted by a very shiny Nathan. I regret that I didn’t take a picture, but I was immediately up to my elbows in more Vaseline than anyone should ever have coated on their body. He’s done this before, but I thought I had the jar well hidden. Eric mocks me for even keeping the greasy stuff in the house but absolutely nothing soothes my cracked dry skin in the winter like Vaseline can. Nathan was so greasy we could have put him in the bathtub and simply watched him disappear as he slithered down the drain. There was Vaseline on the barstools, the kitchen counters, and yes, all over the sofas. I’m still scrubbing. Let’s put it this way, my sofas are beginning to form a “patina”, yes, that’s what we’ll say all the spots are. Charming, enviable patina.

Long Time, No See
Most of the time Lasik is great, but sometimes not.
Pardon the pun. I had lasik surgery - - and had complications. That explains quite a bit about my absence from the blogosphere.

Body Parts
No matter which direction the fetus assumes, poking and stretch marks are bound to ensue.
It’s so hard to tell which body part is which on this kid. I do know, however, that I’ve got a squirmer in there. Just as I was drifting off to sleep last night, I got a sharp jab to my left side that jolted me awake. I’m fairly sure that after a few weeks of worrying what position Fuzzball was in, that he/she is head down and possibly engaged in my pelvis. That would explain all the rapid dropping and the sudden explosion of stretch marks on my lower belly. I’ll have to wait a week though to see if I’m dilating or effaced or anything though. I know it doesn’t mean much, but it would be nice to know that my body is at least making progress.

Quiz
Michael Jackson is not a shining example of plastic surgery.
26. Do you like Michael Jackson? He’s certainly good for a laugh. He’ll make a great central character in some Grimms-esque futuristic fairy tale on the dangers of plastic surgery.

What's Wrong With Glasses?
What, me look freakish?
All this sounds like fun. So I have decided to pick my own random group of people to become obsessed with. I have decided that I don't like people who have had Lasik surgery. What is so wrong with wearing glasses? I have been wearing glasses since I was 5. Does that make me freakish?

Congratulations.
I just had my final checkup, just about one year after my LASIK surgery, and I'm 20/15 combined and 20/20 in each eye.
