Scar
A good Q&A post on scars.
Scars are all different. They may respond differently to different treatments depending on the person, skin type, the direction of the scar (in your case a particularly important point) and the only way to know what the treatment options are is to have someone trustworthy and experienced to give you a hands-on evaluation and an opinion based upon experience with the problem. In my practice, I get doctors and patients sending me people for scar repairs almost every day, so a good deal of my practice profile deals with scars and/or difficult cases.

Hack Attack
But if this hacker reads Skin Care News, he might not have acne!
Its been a while since I posted but now I have something big to share- I got hacked! Some kid broke into my blog and replaced it with his triumphant page celebrating his greatness as an 3leet haX0r. I suspect that his time might have been better spent treating his acne and talking to actual real life girls (not old blokes pretending to be girls on msn) rather than defacing my poor little blog. Still no harm done this time, I am back once again and keen to share thoughts, gambling tips and ill informed comment with the world.

Iron And Prune Juice
Yesterday I had another prenatal appointment. Everything is still going along fine, except I have to get more iron now. My doctor told me to start taking 600 mg a day of iron supplements even though “it is quite constipating.” She said that and I saw the look on DP’s face. I knew what he was thinking, and sure enough when we left he said, “You are never going to poop again are you?”

Adventures In Soapmaking
If you have dry skin, you might want to check out making your own soap.
But I had a number of problems with MP. First of all, even though I was buying a very high-quality base from an online-supplier, I still couldn’t use the soap in the shower. I have very, very sensitive, dry skin. I have struggled with eczema my entire life, and soap had always bothered me. My MP soap drove my skin nuts in the shower. I could use it on my hands, but not in the shower. Kind of a bummer, actually, really a bummer. (Just a note, people with normal skin can usually use MP soap without a problem. My skin is just too picky.)

Cost-Effective Way To Treat Acne
An interesting approach to acne treatment.
Conventional skin peel treatments that involve suction-type dermabrasion can cause further damage, as it can bruise the skin and break some small blood vessels. Those who wish to treat their acne and other skin problems with TCA can control the strength of the treatment by starting off with a weak solution and gradually working their way up to more concentrated mixtures as needed.

Looking Young
It's always a little boost when someone thinks you're younger than you are.
People thought I was much younger than I am. I don’t get it. I think they’re just trying to be flattering. Silly people. I have grey hair and stretch marks and yeah… I’m not that young. Oh well. In a sense it’s complimentary, but then again it’s frustrating at times because I know I don’t looke THAT young.

The Face Of The Future
Some thoughts on face transplants, the ultimate in skin care.
So I was perusing through The New York Times this morning and came across an article that made my skin crawl. No pun intended. The article entitled “The Face of the Future” by Ruth La Ferla and Natasha Singer, deals with the issue of face transplants and how it raises questions about “philosophical limits and fuels cosmetic fantasies.” Apparently, there is a woman in France who was malled by her dog (no comments about dogs either people – that isn’t the point here!), and she was given a new nose, chin, and lips from a brain dead donor.

Dear Summer
Me, too!
I’m tired of winter already. I’m tired of dry skin and chapped lips. I’m tired of the snow. I’m tired of slipping on ice. Dear summer…I miss you.
