Mesotherapy Safety Study Launched

skin care thin torso With mesotherapy, the fat is supposed to melt away.

I have spoken about mesotherapy in the past and the fact that it is still not an approved procedure in the United States. It does not mean, though, that you cannot have it. That is why the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) has announced the commencement of a double-blind placebo study of mesotherapy.

The comments posted above on mesotherapy is inaccurate. The author is certainly bias and shows lack of information. Mesotherapy is a medical specialthy, the FDA does not approve procedures. If you care to check, you many want to call the FDA and ask if Liposuction is approved. You will certainly find it is not FDA approved as a matter of fact I seriously doubt you will find any medical/surgical procedure which is approved. My recently published book, "The Cellulite Cure", has an entire chapter on FDA issues in regards to mesotherapy. I interviewed the former Chief Counsel to the FDA, Peter Barton Hutt. Mr. Hutt, clearly states Mesotherapy does not need FDA approval. He is the authority on the FDA,and he also teaches FDA Law at Harvard and Yale law schools.

The Plastic Surgery society which the author references is threatened by Mesotherapy and its use in treating cellulite and weight reduction. Yes, it has turned into a turf war for the Plastic surgeons. Interestingly enough, Plastic Surgeons and their allies fail to mention that a 100 people a year die from their surgeries. In over 50 years there has been no deaths from mesotherapy. Thus, safety has not been an issue in the field of mesotherapy.

These Surgeons are often quoted as stating their are no "mesotherapy studies" Maybe if they took time to read the medical literature they will discover that Dr. Frank Greenway, in his article entitled, "Topical Fat Reduction" in 1995, demonstrated the effectiveness of mesotherapy.
