The day we left for San Antonio, our OB/GYN told Daniel and me that he plans to induce me early because of my Gestational Diabetes and my current use of insulin to keep it under control. I've been doing really well controlling it with diet and exercise, but as the pregnancy moves forward and my hormones increase it becomes necessary to add in a little bit of insulin.

While I like modern music, folk, and blues, I’m far more interested in playing the classical sounds, and I’m far more intrigued by the sounds of this guitar, meant to be plucked with fingers in the way of a mandolin or lute, not strummed with a pick. Half my first lesson was on nail care, which amused me greatly.

This is the day I got sizzled! I got one of the worst sunburns I’ve ever had. I always end up getting burned at the beach. Always! It’s so easy to underestimate the effects of the sun. I keep thinking I don’t feel like I’m burning, so I must not be. I should know better, after a lifetime of going to these beaches, and a lifetime of getting burned badly. But, NO! I never learn! G was covered with sunscreen, but he has Philip’s skin tone, so he doesn’t burn easily anyway.

And speaking of golden age, Leeza Gibbons (who would look like a plastic surgery nightmare disaster on any other show except this one) came on last night claiming she was indeed the oldest female dancer there. As the four bitchin’ babes say, it’s a giant black hole that will suck your money away for the rest of your life. Yeah, I’ve been sucked into it too, but I’m slowly climbing back out. And the smell of almond soap takes me back to a horrendous job I had after I graduated from high school. The one good memory I have about that job was the delicious bathroom soap, how the scent would linger on my hands. I always wanted to find a similarly scented soap for myself, but this was the pink kind that’s installed in public restroom dispensers.
