Three Kinds Of Yes

skin care guitar nail care If you play a stringed instrument, you have to pay attention to nail care.

While I like modern music, folk, and blues, I’m far more interested in playing the classical sounds, and I’m far more intrigued by the sounds of this guitar, meant to be plucked with fingers in the way of a mandolin or lute, not strummed with a pick. Half my first lesson was on nail care, which amused me greatly.

Beauty Products Rant

skin care nail polish design Tips on spending wisely on nail care and other beauty products.

So have you been sucked into this world yet? Makeup, skincare, hair care, nail care, etc etc etc…. As the four bitchin’ babes say, it’s a giant black hole that will suck your money away for the rest of your life. Yeah, I’ve been sucked into it too, but I’m slowly climbing back out. Trouble is, these things are addictive. But fear not, here’s Trish’s guide to saving your money and still looking beautiful.

Burke Williams Day Spa In SF

skin care massage Another good reason to visit San Francisco.

This, in fact, will be the largest Day Spa in SF for facials, massages, nail care, hair care, and aromatherapy. Burke Williams coined the term “Day Spa” in the mid-1980s and owns eight other locales, mostly in Southern California.

Girlie Night

skin care nail care products We think every girlie night should include a trip to the nail care aisle.

Yesterday I needed a break, so B stayed at home with J and worked and S and I went shopping with my neighbor. She introduced me to Forever 21 (again, but this one was BIG), Charlotte Russe, Agaci, and my regular stop Aeropostale, and couldn’t believe I didn’t buy ANYthing. She is six months pregnant and found a bunch of cute, flowey tops to wear. Forever 21 has a lot of good ones for that. We came home and switched out a kiddo and S stayed with B and J came with us while we got our nails done, he has a cell phone that he discovered still works so he called Grandpa, Auntie, Grandma, and then asked for M’s number and called her. We picked up dinner and ran to HEB to return a movie and came back to watch Dancing with the Stars. I can’t believe I haven’t discovered that show before. LOVE it. We went back out and ended up spending an hour and a half at HEB perusing the makeup and nail care aisle, and then every other aisle it seemed and getting a hodgepodge of needed and fun stuff. Then B took both the kids and put them to bed and we stayed up eating chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and watching The Sweetest Thing until 1am. Fun girlie night.

At The Mall

skin care nail care products So much for the nail care products.

While walking around the mall a guy working at one of the kiosks approached me and made me realize how pathetic my life is right now. Well, at least from the romantic standpoint. The guy was selling nail care products of some sort and as I was walking by he stopped me to “ask a question.” I’m always interested in listening to people sell now so I said ok with one foot facing him and the other set to walk away as soon as he started to annoy me. He asked whether I take care of my hands and I said no, not so much. He asked whether Valentines day was coming up. He spoke broken english so I had him repeat it a few times before I could understand what he was asking and I think he thought I was just plain stupid for not understanding. I finally said yes it is and he asked whether I had a girlfriend. Nope. A wife? No. A friend? Negative. Anyone? No, actually. He paused for a minute and realized I was serious and not just avoiding him and then kind of grabbed my arm and said sorry and turned away.

It's Back

skin care estee lauder red nail polish Found the Estee Lauder red nail polish!

I thought for the last 6 months or so that my red nail polish was tragically lost (probably in the same place my hot pink and black nail polishes were.) Not so! It was hiding at the bottom of my nail care bag! My nails are now a bright and exciting shade of red and I’m pleased as punch. Unfortunately, it’s starting to get a bit thick, so I may need to invest in a new bottle. Considering this is the same nail polish I wore on my toes every day the summer after my senior year of high school, it’s probably way expired. Aw, I will miss thee, red nail polish from Estee Lauder.

Nail Care Blogs

skin care nail care We love the nail care blogs! Where are they?

You guys got it. I have merely been adding crappy little snippets that could not respectably pass as posts anywhere in the whole competitive blogging world (assuming there is such a thing notwithstanding that obvious fact that most bloggers are probably self-centric screen gazers who don't give a damn either way... and you know I am not talking about teenage girls that have photologs or write syndicated columns for teen mags about nail care or the throes of adolescent relationships). Well, getting back to the point, I was doing that merely to check if my blog was still alive since I was afraid that Blogger would wake up to the fact that I have merely been hogging precious memory on their servers without any activity and suddenly wipe out my account off the face of the web.

Peel Your Nails

skin care fingernail polish removal If you take off your fingernail polish, take it all off.

So, today's prognosis on scraped-nail polish syndrome is not good. Not good at all. So, if you see someone out there with half-picked nail-polished nails, do us all a favor and stop them and share with them this easy to remember, rhyming phrase:

If it's not a total peel...you're gonna make me squeal!
