Be Careful!
Be careful if you go overseas for plastic surgery.
We should be careful in choosing which clinic will we opt to undergo such kind of operation like rhinoplasty because it might end up in a bad nose surgery. There are lots of cases that lead to the patient’s dismay and dissatisfaction because instead of improving their look after a nose job, it only ruined their facial features.

I'm Vain, Are You?
A funny post on vanity.
9) If I see a woman my age who looks younger than me, I will wonder where she did her plastic surgery and how she got the money. Is the husband a drug dealer or something?

Tom Jones' Eyelids
A plastic surgeon dishes Tom Jones.
TMZ has a post on entertainer Tom Jones with a recent image. He has had his share of plastic surgery, but looks like he needs some consideration for his left lower eyelid. It is a bit droopy. This could of course be due to previous surgery or just his age.

Dancing With The Stars
From a review of Dancing with the Stars, the question: does Leeza Gibbons depend on plastic surgery or sheer cosmeticsAnd speaking of golden age, Leeza Gibbons (who would look like a plastic surgery nightmare disaster on any other show except this one) came on last night claiming she was indeed the oldest female dancer there. And when we say old, we mean that “Sheercover” make-up line she’s endorsing doesn’t quite do her justice up-close.

Need A Nose Job?
With so many plastic surgery options, maybe a rhinoplastyI’ve seen quite a bit of plastic surgery centres sprouting up in town in the last three years, probably because people are more concious of their physical appearance as we are getting more urbanised. In addition to that, centres which provides specialised plastic surgery are also able to correct facial deformities or even injuries that causes such deformities - therefore giving their patients a new lease of life and the confidence they really require to stand up tall.

Facial Rejuvenation
Cosmetic plastic surgery (such as a facelift, eyelid lift, or forehead lift) removes and tightens loose or excess skin. If you have excess skin with visible sagginess, having cosmetic surgery is probably your best approach.

A Woman's Worth
Plastic surgery isn't a necessary ingredient of self-worth.
A woman of intelligence, a working woman, a family woman, has no time to constantly look like a model, does not have the means to constantly look like she’s just got out of plastic surgery. These women have far more important things in their lives, but they suffer for them.

Mesotherapy Safety Study Launched
With mesotherapy, the fat is supposed to melt away.
I have spoken about mesotherapy in the past and the fact that it is still not an approved procedure in the United States. It does not mean, though, that you cannot have it. That is why the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) has announced the commencement of a double-blind placebo study of mesotherapy.

Beauty
This blooger hates the idea that “babies prefer pretty people” and “ugly children get neglected”.
But the idea of beauty is different in every culture. So when they parade a long stream of “pretty” and “ugly” people past a group of babies and guage their reaction, who are the babies? Who are the people? As I grow older, and plastic surgery gets progressively more affordable, I spend much of my time in the movie theatre looking through my fingers at the scary, scary actors on the screen, with gigantic breasts and cartoon-parody swollen lips and skin stretched so thinly so that light reflects off of it like it’s molded plastic (which of course, it often is). Were these the people the babies reacted favorably to? Here’s my guess: the babies reacted favorably because the other people in the room reacted favorably. I mean, jesus, when I went wandering around Toronto with my friend Mia, it was like an episode of National Geographic. Men and women fell all over themselves getting close to her, talking to her, wanting her attention. Of course a baby would pick up on that kind of positive atmosphere. To imply that beauty is a trait that a baby knows from birth is patently absurd.

I Got A job!
Congrats!
But then again, McD’s rejected my job application, as with countless other retailers - I had a permanent, genetically-induced (my cruel fate started at conception it would seem) sleepy face that scares away retail companies fearing it would put off their customers. I could do plastic surgery, but it’s rather expensive, so I need to get a job for that, and thus the vicious cycle begin - no job without plastic surgery, no plastic surgery without job.

Acne Scar
Dr. Cherrie Blas on acne scar treatment.
If your acne scars are just flat (surface-level) and discolored, treatment’s simpler because you are only considering either prescription-strength topical treatments (which you do on your own at home), chemical peel series, microdermabrasion or IPL intense pulsed light sessions.

Plastic Surgery Chins
I just noticed this item.
I got this email the other day that had a bunch of pictures of famous movie stars, singers like Madonna and Barbara Streisand — but basically, very well known people. Anywho, each individual had two pictures in this email. A before makeup shot and an after makeup shot. And let me tell you, what a difference make-up makes. It’s almost like some of these websites that feel they have to put on a show with all their fancy graphics and flash animations. I just personally can really appreciate the plain white background sites. Like this one site when I was search for plastic surgery chins on the net the other day — and wouldn’t you know it. Right at the top, there it was. The site that gave me everything I needed on the topic. Point on. Back to these famous stars, some of them were seriously gross and were downright ugly. Boy what a different make-up makes.

10 Best Blogging Stories In 2005
From a list of best blog stories, this funny one on plastic surgery.
Well, some guy found her old photos and compared it with her new ones and they differ so greatly some ppl think that she might have gone for plastic surgery! Well, while I was in JC (yes, I studied in S’pore for awhile, same school, senior batch) I didn’t even noticed her, thought Sun Yanzi’s sister (yes, she looks like her) and the MGS girl (mixed blood, very pretty) she always hangs out with were the most talked about till this revelation came about.

Cost-Effective Way To Treat Acne
An interesting approach to acne treatment.
Conventional skin peel treatments that involve suction-type dermabrasion can cause further damage, as it can bruise the skin and break some small blood vessels. Those who wish to treat their acne and other skin problems with TCA can control the strength of the treatment by starting off with a weak solution and gradually working their way up to more concentrated mixtures as needed.

The Face Of The Future
Some thoughts on face transplants, the ultimate in skin care.
So I was perusing through The New York Times this morning and came across an article that made my skin crawl. No pun intended. The article entitled “The Face of the Future” by Ruth La Ferla and Natasha Singer, deals with the issue of face transplants and how it raises questions about “philosophical limits and fuels cosmetic fantasies.” Apparently, there is a woman in France who was malled by her dog (no comments about dogs either people – that isn’t the point here!), and she was given a new nose, chin, and lips from a brain dead donor.

Margot Fonteyn
Here at Skin Care News, nothing is a secret!
Her fascinating book proves how persistent she was, and how she won the trust of those who knew the much-loved ballerina best. The difficulty we both found was that Fonteyn’s generation (she was born in 1919) did not believe in airing any kind of linen in public. In their view, the world had no need to know about a performer’s private life. Dancers, when they talked at all, did not discuss their aches and pains, abortions, affairs, plastic surgery and eating habits. Their colleagues were expected to be similarly discreet, especially if they were members of the Royal Ballet.

No Judgment
No plastic surgery judgments here.
Look, there's nothing wrong with making the most of what you have. Or making some changes that give you confidence. Far be it from me to pass judgment on anyone who makes plastic surgery a priority; I have my own opinion about it, but it's not my choice to make.

I Am An Old Lady
Whether we like it or not, we get old. But there's always time for a little skin care!
I know I am just overacted but I couldn’t help wonder why plastic surgery & cosmetic are so popular that every single woman is willing to invest a bunch of money to purchase “YOUTH” back. Maybe it is because we are all afrid we can’t catch men’s eyes anymore, or perhaps we can’t bear losing our self-confidence. I assume that I don’t want to get older for I am not taking enough advantage from my beauty. Once I lose my battle against with nature, can I really just let it go without any regret?

No Facelift For Sir Michael Caine
A happy ending to a viscious story:
It's just good genes!A British newspaper has issued an apology to actor Sir Michael Caine after wrongly reporting the star has had cosmetic surgery. The Daily Mail tabloid printed the lies in several articles last year and have since been blasted for their mistake. And to further make up for the blunder, they are making a donation to the Cider House Rules
actor’s favorite charity - National Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Children (NSPCC). Today’s edition reads, “We suggested that Sir Michael Caine had had a facelift. In fact, this is untrue....

Teens and Breast Jobs
This makes sense. Maybe the age limit oughta be a little higher?
The Food and Drug Administration has not approved aesthetic breast augmentation for patients less than 18 years of age. Adolescents may not have the physical and/or emotional maturity to choose plastic surgery; they may have unrealistic expectations, a misunderstanding about potential complications, and may have not yet reached full physical development.

Advanced Sclerotherapy for Varicose Veins
Varicose veins are not strictly a skin care problem, but having them repaired can reduce discomfort and make your skin look better. Here's word on a new surgical repair technique.
A new method getting praise is directing the foam sclerosant through a catheter with the help of ultrasound, which means that larger, deeper veins can now be treated through this method instead of surgical ligation and stripping.

Liposuction: The Most Popular Plastic Surgery
Skin care and good diet can help make us look better, but sometimes plastic surgery really helps.
Liposuction is a body contouring operation that requires not only an artist’s eye, but also the insight to determine which patients are likely to benefit from the procedure (and which specific areas of a patient’s body are appropriate for liposuction). When artfully and appropriately applied, liposuction can produce dramatic contour improvements. As with all plastic surgery, the goal should be to produce a natural contour.

Is Plastic Surgery the Right Step?
This blogger says that women may elect to have plastic surgery for the wrong reasons. Maybe some simple skin care and dieting would be better.
Perhaps not all of the cases are caused by these fashion symbols, but it should not be dismissed as being a large contributor. This is the age of plastic surgery and breast enhancements, if a woman did not feel that she had to have these two things in order to be beautiful they would not be so popular. So what causes her to want this? Men and of course societies portrayal of women.

Plastic Surgery Reality Television
Is this really reality TV?
Surgery of the face which consists mainly of removing (subtracting) skin and fat and pulling tissues tight will lead, in many instances, to a "skeletonized" and therefore more aged (or "done") appearance. This approach to plastic surgery often results in the "wind tunnel" look that screams "I've had a Facelift". Facial soft tissues (and even the facial bones) actually lose volume and projection with age, and it is thus inevitable that surgery which focuses only on removing tissue will in some fashion "age" the face.

Do You Need Plastic Surgery
This blogger makes a good point: do you really need plastic surgery? Maybe a little skin care or a hair cut will do the trick.
Lord knows I understand the desire to look good. To look younger. To be attractive. I really do. I spend a lot of time and money on skin care and hair care.
What I don't understand, though, is why perfectly fine-looking women feel the need to undergo plastic surgery to "make" themselves look good. I'm not talking about women who were born with disfigurements, have been in accidents, lost a breast to cancer, or anything like that. I'm talking about women who look fine. They don't look like movie stars, but then again, most of the time movie stars don't look like movie stars either.
Yesterday, when I was home sick, I had left the TV on low in the background. At some point, Oprah came on. She had devoted her whole show to people who had undergone "extreme makeovers". I'm looking at these women (and one man). Not one of them needed plastic surgery to look better. A better haircut. Contact lenses or lasik surgery*. A little makeup. A different skin care regimen. Some nicer clothes. That was it. It's not even hard, and, with the exception of lasik, it costs a lot less than plastic surgery.

New Laser Treatment for Your Face
This new fraxel laser procedure costs about $1,100 per treatment.
The latest laser technology is designed to help smooth your face without hurting the top layer of your skin.
"I think it takes away sun spots almost completely. It improves wrinkles dramatically. After three treatments, we're looking at 70 percent improvement in wrinkling. And I think it does a great deal to give an even pigmentation throughout the skin," said Dr. Robert Mirabile, a plastic surgeon.
The lasering of the entire face takes about a half hour. Most people need three procedures, but some need four or five.
